Puppy Socialization

So important and so difficult to do during the current SIP.  If you have a less-than-5-month-old puppy and know that you should be doing the
early socialization that your pup needs to develop healthy behaviors and be well
adjusted but are challenged in doing so during Covid-19 SIP.  Please contact us and we’ll be happy to send you some free information on ways to do so.

This class presents some important skills that will benefit pups and dogs of any age.  To build the foundation for your dog to become a polite companion, we will address how dogs learn and the most effective way to teach them using reward-based methods.  When your dog learns to control his impulses, he’ll be less likely to jump, bolt, steal, pull on leash etc.  You will learn to get more focus from your dog and teach him to make good decision and say “please” to gain life rewards.  Basic behaviors will be taught (sit, down, stay, come, walk on leash, leave it, wait, greet politely, go to your …) with increasing difficulty.  If your dog is overexcited (barking lunging) around other dogs, ask about private training to get your dog ready for a future class.
